Is Your Hunger - Fake or Real?
What is Hunger?
Hunger is actually a call for nutrients as much as an energy need. It's a generic signal to EAT!
Genuine hunger comes on over time, it develops. Remember we are an "old brain in a new world" Our ancestors as hunter gatherers had to first find or catch and prepare their food sources before they could eat.. So the initial signal for hunger is how to resource food.
Genuine hunger does not need then to be satisfied immediately. By following the Placebo Diet Colour Code System and eating nutrient dense foods the body sends the signal 'I need food for energy' which is the pre cursor to preparation and cooking of a meal to meet that need.
The quality of the food you eat is equally as important as the amount you eat. We must realise the body is asking for good nutrition in order to carry out 'housekeeping' for efficient functioning and optimum health.
Fake hunger is urgent - it comes on quickly, even spontaneously in response to a 'trigger' eg time of day, a smell, a person , a TV ad......you become 'primed' to a trigger that promotes a craving or urgent need (usually for sugar and highly processed,, low nutrient foods) - it's false!
It satisfies in the short term giving rise to further cravings which lead to over consumption of the wrong foods and all its dire health consequences!
Real hunger is not an 'internal voice ' it's a sense that has been lost for many and needs resetting...... Do you need to reset your genuine hunger signals?
