Hi
It's truly Autumn and if you are able, you really can't beat getting out in the fresh air for a walk or run maybe and embrace the explosion of colour of the leaves changing, everyday different, and more vibrant than the previous - just glorious!
Please Note : No ZOOM Girl Talk this Friday 23rd October - Off to vist a New Step Grandson!
One of the nicest and most rewarding things I get to do every week is a Zoom Class for the Welwyn, Hatfield and Hertford Branch of Parkinson's UK.
Eighteen Months ago I was invited (after being recommended by a Lindsey Fitness member) to observe an exercise session with a view to taking over from the previous instructor who was leaving. This lovely group of people affected by Parkinsons along with their partners and supporters made me so welcome it was a very easy decision to take them on and deliver a safe, effective, seated exercise class twice a month.
With the lockdown , the group of course were among the first to be sheilded and classes ceased immediatly. It became more important than ever to find a way for everyone to meet and of course exercise. So after a couple of weeks of help and direction we were able to start a weekly Zoom session which I feel has bought us all closer. The session starts with a round robin of how everyones week there has been with much laughter and the discovery
with wonderful stories of peoples lives and acheivments . This is followed by seated chair exercise to help with mobility, strength, flexibility and co ordination. The mental lift from this session is so valuable too and is hugely rewarding to deliver. The group has also welcomed others who are sheilding and enjoy the exercise along with the social connection.
If you or someone you know could benefit or might be interested in this class , do please get in touch and I will happily give you contact details for joining .
