Sending my love , strength and positivity as ever this twelfth week of lockdown.
With some children now back in schools and others returning to work with new and strict guidelines in place to become familiar with, it's a further period of readjustment and compliance for us all. We must of course all continue to proceed with caution and observation with these changes so that we can remain as safe and well as possible.
This week I would like to showcase another Lockdown 'Project You ' Success!
Katy is a Lindsey Fitness member who has embraced the Placebo Programs since introducing them at Lindsey Fitness 2 years ago with both the Colour Code System as the norm and the Colour Fast Reset which she incorporates into her health regime twice a year.
With the enforced changes the lockdown presented, Katy discovered her eating habits were affected too - and not for the better.
Here's what Katy did .....
"5 weeks ago I realised that working out nearly everyday wasn’t going to compensate for the amount and type of food I was fuelling it with. Although my fitness levels were improving, my body was heavy and struggling to get into my “comfy” jeans. Working from home meant no tight business attire to keep me in check and snacks on tap all day. At this strange and overwhelming time of COVID, I decided to just make a few easy tweaks, based on the
principles learnt from the Placebo Diet Programs:
- Monday meal planning and priming with a weekly food and exercise sheet pinned up in the kitchen
- Back to consistent fasting windows (14 hours or more) and 2 meals a day
- Meal 1 options planned as salad, soup or overnight kefir oats
- Meal 2 fresh and balanced dishes everyday with filling smart carb (low Gi) decisions 2 or 3 times a week - sweet potato, brown rice etc.
- Drinking alcohol on only 1 evening of the weekend.
- 1 cheat meal a week - over many years I’ve found planning this in actually keeps me focused and less likely to stray the rest of the week. Since following the Placebo Programs I actually now make my own “cheat meals” from scratch, as I like to know exactly what’s in it. All fresh produce and nothing processed."
"I’m so much happier both mentally and physically. Its incredible how much difference a few pounds (4lb in my case) can make and how sustainable it can be when you have a plan that works."
