Lindsey Fitness News - March 19th 2026 -....and Just Breathe!
Published: Thu, 03/19/26
Hello There,
How are you this week? ...... I know some members along with myself are feeling more than good as we come to the end of our Spring Clean Reset.
All previous Resetters, we just love the process and how we feel doing it, quite magical! I can't wait to share our results with you next week following 3 weeks of
high nutrition, intermittent fasting, express HiiT workouts , energetic mindfulness, cleansing, embedding and intention setting - it has been as always an AMAZING journey as we continue to be our best versions, mind, body and soul!
Which leads me to this weeks health matters topic on Breathwork. We all breath of course but do you use it to best benefit you? On the Reset we practice breathwork ahead of the resource
audio meditations everyday - it's a truly powerful tool. Have a read of the article and do try the simple 10 minute breathwork meditation I have included for you. Feel calm and relaxed in a matter of minutes - yes really!
Reset recipes are based very much on good protein and vegetables, so I have posted one I use on a regular basis. It includes both meat (Chicken) and vegetable protein, (pulses and beans) along with high antioxidant greens
(Spinach)- and of course it is delicious - Enjoy!
No Saturday classes this week as we are away to North Wales for a long weekend with friends and a long overdue catch up with others. Members can of course use the Lindsey Fitness You Tube library of workouts in place of your Saturday class. I 'll pop the link in the home group for you.
Have a beautiful week, I'll see you in
classes, online and at running club.
Love Lindsey xx

Breathwork is more than just breathing; it's a journey to wellness that we can all embark on together. You might be wondering, "Why should I focus on something as simple as breathing?" Well, lI can tell you, the benefits of breathwork are profound and can
truly help transform your life.
When we talk about breathwork, we're diving into a practice that helps you connect with your body and mind. It's about taking a moment to pause, breathe, and find balance. You might be thinking, "I already breathe every day, so what's the big deal?" But here's the magic: intentional breathwork can reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and boost your overall
well-being.
Imagine this: You're sitting in a quiet room, your eyes gently closed, and you start taking slow, deep breaths. Inhale deeply, filling your lungs with fresh air. Exhale slowly, releasing tension and worries. As you continue, you might notice your mind calming down, your heart rate slowing, and a sense of peace washing over you. This is the power of breathwork.
Breathwork
isn't just about relaxation; it's a tool for healing. When you practice regularly, you can experience reduced anxiety, improved focus, and even enhanced creativity. It's like giving your brain a mini-vacation, a chance to reset and recharge. And who doesn't need that in today's fast-paced world?
Let's talk about the physical benefits. By practicing breathwork, you're increasing the oxygen flow to your cells, which can boost your energy
levels and improve your immune system. It's like giving your body a natural energy drink, without the crash later. Plus, it can help with digestion and even aid in lowering blood pressure. It's a simple yet powerful way to support your health.
Now, I know you might be thinking, "This sounds great, but where do I start?" The beauty of breathwork is that it's accessible to everyone. You don't need any special equipment or a fancy gym
membership. All you need is a few minutes and a quiet space. You can start with just a few deep breaths in the morning to set a positive tone for your day. Or try a guided breathwork session online to explore different techniques and find what works best for you. I have popped a beautiful breathe work meditation here (below) . Find 10 minutes and a quiet space to enjoy ths . Maybe mark yourself on a scale of 1 -10 how tense you feel before and then after completing it . You'll feel so much
better - I promise.
Make a pledge to yourself to embrace this practice, remember that breathwork is a personal journey. It's about finding what feels right for you and making it a part of your daily routine. Make it a part of your life and experience the incredible benefits it brings.

FOOD MATTERS:
Chicken, Pulses, and Spinach - Power Food!
INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup mixed pulses (like lentils, chickpeas, or beans), cooked
2 cups fresh spinach, washed and chopped
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup chicken broth or water
Juice of half a lemon
Fresh parsley for
garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once it's shimmering, add the chicken pieces. Season them with a little salt and pepper, and let them cook until they're golden brown on all sides. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Once done, remove the chicken and set it aside.
In the same pan, toss
in the chopped onion and garlic. Let them sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
Now, add your cooked pulses to the pan. Stir them in with the onion and garlic, letting them soak up all those wonderful flavours.
Sprinkle in the cumin and paprika. Give everything a good stir so the spices coat the pulses evenly.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a gentle simmer. Add the spinach and let it wilt down. This only takes a couple of minutes, and it's a great way to sneak in those greens!
Return the chicken pieces to the pan. Let everything simmer together for another 5 minutes.
Squeeze the lemon juice over the dish. This brightens up all the flavours and adds a lovely
zing.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving - ENJOY!
