Hello There, What wonderful, warm Spring weather last weekend. I hope you made some time to get out and enjoy the sunshine. It just makes everyone and everything seem so much better. More of that please! Firstly I must apologise for last weeks newsletter or non- newsletter ... I was trying out a new platform and had a few
technical issues, and it frustratingly failed to send. So back to what I am familiar with using for the time being. A reminder that there will be NO Saturday classes at Monks Walk this week 15th March and NO LIVE M&M on Monday 17th. Please use the online library of course in place of. All other classes will run as normal. Heads up for Monks Walk classes Saturday 5th April that will both will run
30 minutes EARLIER tht week as I am conducting a Wedding that day. I mentioned how sunshine is certainly something that can help lift the mood but of course it is not necessarily a solution to those with mental health issues. Low mood or mental health issues is something we can all probably relate to, to a greater of lesser degree .This weeks spotlight focuses on some simple actions to help ourselves and those around
us. Big news on the London Marathon Fundraising left me stunned this week as you will read. I hope you are now entered for the CRUK Race for Life event with me in May - something we can do together as a little fitness challenge for a fantastic cause. Food matters is a delicious 'alternative ' to a Sunday roast which Gary and I tried last week. Simple and totally delicious - we'll be
doing that one again!
Have a great week and I'll see you in classes and online

How
are you really feeling?
This week I want to address mental health and wellbeing , Are there times when you feel bored, frustrated. or lonely? Do you sometimes (or much of the time) feel low, worried, anxious or concerned about your health or that of those close to you. These are all common reactions to the difficult situations we can face as individuals from time to time.
Everyone reacts differently to events that happen in our lives, and changes in the way that we think, feel and behave vary between different people and over time. It's always good to talk and its important that we take care of our minds as well as our bodies. My job has always been to help you and help others to be your the best, most positive healthiest version of you physically and
mentally
Focus
on what you can do , not what you can't
*
Have a
good
daily routine that includes some
physical
exercise everyday. Try the Lindsey Fitness Home Mindfulness and Mobilisation online session for a gentle and uplifting start to your day.
*
Eat
only the food that will truly love you back, food that will lift you and nourish
you.
Remember
you are what you eat! Processed and junk food will depress
your mood and immunity and will cause you unwanted weight gain.
*
Get
outside everyday in the fresh air even if for just 10 minutes in a lunch or
coffee break. Go
for
a walk or go for a run maybe to lift your mood or just to breathe some fresh air
*
Practice
Mindfulness - for a few minutes every morning, focusing on the present moment and just your breath for a will leave you calm, balanced and energised for whatever your day ahead brings.
*
Set yourself goals -a mental challenge to learn a new skill or a physical
fitness challenge maybe can be wonderfully cathartic.
*
Take
time out to relax - find time to just sit quietly reading, listening to some
soothing music or a meditation. A 'pattern interrupt' for mind and body to just chill. There is plenty more help and information for mental wellbeing on the NHS website just click on the following link
Please also know, if at anytime you feel that stress and anxiety is threatening to overwhelm you, that I am always available to chat to (in confidence of course) - just message, call or e-mail me please xxx

The ' Very Last One' !!!........6 weeks to go >>>> With just 6 weeks to go, fundraising has gone through the roof with donations. Last week on my personal Facebook page I invited people to sponsor one of the 26.2 miles of the
Marathon. For a minimum donation of £5, I will run each mile of the London Marathon dedicated to the person who sponsored that particular mile. The response was incredible and the original £500 target has now almost doubled. This really helped cheer me up, having taken a fall 4 miles on last Sunday mornings training run with my Marathon sister
Natalie (pictured). A little bruised and battered, we nonetheless completed our planned 8 miles and I am pleased to report no lasting damage. Thank you for all the messages but more so all the fabulous donations so far. Still a handful of miles available if I can run one for you or a loved one - head over to my personal Facebook page to see which are still available.
The training and fund raising continues.... Fundraising for the Welwyn Hatfield Parkinson's Group is now heading towards £1000, at a fantastic £946.00 (including cash donations) I can't thank you enough
£946.00 SO FAR! Thank you so muchly xxx
