Hello There! Back to it .....feeling much rested and revitalised after a lovely break in Spain. It's always good to get back to classes and see everyone because I genuinely miss you. It was great to do a few online 'shorts' sessions with some of you, but you really can't beat the face to
face class vibe of a group workout. n.b Saturday classes this week are at the Ridgeway Academy in the Sports Centre. Back to Sunday Runday too with the Lindsey Fitness Running Club. With 3 of our members taking part in the Welwyn 10km event, held for the first time in beautiful Panshanger Park. I am now focused on the Great North Run in September as
you will have read and now (to my astonishment and delight) the London Marathon 2025!. I entered the ballot in April, not really expecting to get a place after hearing there was a 45% increase in Ballot applications this year. But I received an email whilst away confirming a place in the World's greatest running event - so here we go again! We are spotlighting on Bowel Cancer in the newsletter
this week, following some recent tests myself, to check some symptoms. All is absolutely as it should be thankfully, but it is something we should all be on alert for and get checked ASAP if any unusual symptoms develop. The Summer Reset is underway, and I am working with another fabulous group of ladies 'deep cleaning' our minds and bodies as a health treat. We have been preparing all this week, our menus,
and mindset, and are ready to put it al in to practice for 14 days from Monday. Do read about the new 121 mentoring initiative - launching with an introductory offer ! Have a positive and active week, and I'll see you in classes. Love Lindsey xxx

Bowel cancerBowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, and around 43,000 people are diagnosed with the disease every year. It’s treatable and curable, especially if diagnosed early. Risk factors for bowel cancerBowel cancer is more common in older people, with more than 40% of cases diagnosed in people over the age of 75. Some of the key risks of bowel cancer include - your diet, specifically eating too much red and processed meat, and eating too little fibre
- being overweight/obese
- not
getting enough exercise
- drinking alcohol
- smoking
- a family history of the condition
- a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease.
You could help to reduce your risk of bowel cancer by swapping red and processed meat for chicken, fish, beans or pulses,
and by increasing the amount of fibre in your diet. You can do this by swapping white bread and rice for brown, choosing wholegrain breakfast cereals and eating more fruit and vegetables that are high in fibre, such as peas and raspberries Bowel cancer symptomsThere are a wide range of symptoms associated with bowel
cancer, including: - changes in your poo, such as experiencing diarrhoea or constipation regularly that’s not normal for you
- needing to poo more or less often than usual
- blood in your poo, which may appear red or black
- bleeding from your bottom
- often feeling like you need
to poo even if you’ve just been
- tummy pain
- a lump in your tummy
- bloating
- unexplained weight loss.
Bowel cancer screeningNHS Bowel cancer screening checks are currently available to everyone aged between 60 and 74
years old, although it’s currently expanding to gradually include everyone over the age of 50. It involves a home testing kit where you take a small sample of your poo and send it to lab. If you’re registered with an NHS GP, you should be sent a bowel cancer screening kit every two years. However, if you’re concerned about bowel cancer at any age, don’t wait for screening and make an appointment with a doctor straight away. What to expect if you are diagnosed with bowel cancerA bowel cancer diagnosis will always be a stressful and emotional time. Your doctor will take the time to explain what your diagnosis means and what treatment you can be offered. Don’t forget to ask as many questions as you need too. There’s support available online from a range of organisations, including Bowel Cancer UK and the Bowel Cancer Support Group UK. You can also contact Macmillan Cancer Support. Your healthcare team should be able to direct you to any local support groups as well.
Back in May I was contacted by a lovely lady called Mandy who had previously attended my classes some 17 years ago. Mandy lost several stones with me and it changed her life significantly both physically and mentally. Fast forward to May 2024 and Mandy reached out to me for some help .We had a great no obligation
ZOOM discovery call just to chat about where Mandy was at and how I might help her again. Following some significant personal losses Mandy had regained some weight but been unable to shift it whatever she tried and felt rather lost as to what to do about it. Mandy declared she had only ever been successful through me and could we find some way for me to help her again. So we have been working on a pilot 121 basis. This involved a weekly ZOOM call and Mandy sending me an accountability post every single day. I have been working with Mandy for 6 weeks introducing nutritional changes and targets along with setting exercise goals in a step by step process tailored to what she herself feels achievable. Creating new healthier habits and embedding them, moving forward. with confidence on her terms. This lady is flying ..... having lost over 5kgs, at least a dress size, and her step count going from less that 2,000 steps per day to well over 5,000! With over 30 years of experience in weight loss and nutrition I am available to take on some more 121 clients starting with a 6 week mentoring package, tailored to you. To work
with you personally to... - Change your mindset around food and bad eating habit
- Help Stop the negative self image,
- To advise, direct and inspire you nutritionally
- To set you safe and achievable exercise goals on your terms
- To guide, support
and encourage to be your best ever YOU!
- To make you realise just how amazing you and your body truly are
I will work with you exclusively at your pace in a way that suits you, to get the results you want and instill the knowledge and the confidence to take the new you forward.
To launch this new initiative I am offering 3 places of 6 weeks of 121 mentoring for £299.00. Get in touch to book a FREE no obligation discovery call with me NOW!

XXX The AJ Bell Great North Run is the world's biggest and best half marathon, with 60,000 runners taking on the 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields. I have managed to secured a place in this years run on Sunday 8th September. I will be running for the Meningitis Research Foundation, a leading international charity, working to defeat meningitis and septicaemia
since 1989 Their vision is of a world free from meningitis and septicaemia. A world where effective vaccinations can protect everyone from meningitis and septicaemia. A world where people who do get ill, often very seriously, get the most effective diagnosis and treatment possible. A world where those affected by meningitis and septicaemia, their families and communities have the best support possible. I myself was struck down very suddenly with Meningitis at Christmas 2015, and was fortunate that a rapid, correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment saved me from this debilitating, and sometimes life threatening condition.
By securing a place in the run for MRF, I need to raise much needed funds for them to continue their amazing work. I am as always hugely grateful if you would like to sponsor me
