I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend ..... and remembered to put the clocks forward too!

Good Friday was a brilliant day for two of our London Marathon 2024 participants . I joined Jacqui Brown and Jade Marriott on their final long training run of 22 miles. We were hugely grateful to be so ably supported along the way at various points by other LFRC runners, our magnificent car and cycle support and other spectators . It really makes such a difference. Jacqui and Jade are now fully prepared for their Marathons, and are now tapering their training ready for their big day on April 21st in London. Both girls are running for charities close to their hearts - please read their stories later in the is newsletter.

Also important news from our lovely Placebo Diet mentor Janet Thomson if you have purchased resources for any of her courses including the Colour Code System and Colour Fast Reset.

The Spring into Summer Reset had launched with the preparation week and participants are raring to go with their 14 day reset and exercise sessions with me from Monday.I am so excited as always for their Reset transformations.

TCS LONDON MARATHON 2024

Jacqui's Story

On Sunday 21 April 2024, it will be 2 years to the day that my brother Mark was seriously burnt on duty attempting to rescue a member of the public. It is also the day of the 2024 London Marathon.

Mark would not be here today had it not been for the amazing work of the team at Buckingham Healthcare National Health Service, in particular their intensive care team and regional centre for burns care, plastic surgery and dermatology, they saved his life.

The NHS team were there for our family and are for countless others (as are ALL the emergency services assisting us daily).

In appreciation of the efforts of the NHS staff but also for their ongoing work I am running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon to help raise funds for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund.

Every penny raised helps towards projects that enhance patient care and make a huge difference to patients, their families and the staff who care for them.

Any support towards my fundraising efforts, large or small, would be gratefully received!

Jades Story...

I sadly lost my mum Julie to breast cancer when I was just 6 years old. Now I have my own beautiful baby girl Lily, I can understand how difficult it would have been for my Mum to leave her two young children behind. Because of this, I would like to do everything in my power to raise money to continue the research in developing treatments and breast cancer prevention.

As welI as my Mum, I will run for my brave Auntie Elaine (survivor), my inspirational friend Lav who has been battling her breast cancer like a hero for the past year, my beautiful friend and client Tash who has trained with me during her recovery and has been incredible watching her grow in strength and confidence, Auntie Elva who truely felt like an auntie who sadly lost her battle not so long ago. I will run for everyone that has been affected by Breast Cancer.

Important Message from Janet Thomson.....

It has been my pleasure to deliver so many retreats over the last decade or so, whether it’s Come Alive Now, Placebo Diet, Stress Less, or more recently Reset & Reboot. However, as many of you may already know, a few weeks ago I married my wonderful husband Steve, and I have decided to (almost) retire.

This means I have cancelled any future retreats with Champneys and will not be selling any more coaching programmes.

If you have purchased any of the online courses, you will receive a separate email telling you how to download the files so that you get to keep all of your resources for good.

If we do not meet again then I want to remind you that YOU ARE AMAZING! And that Self Care is NOT Selfish. Ageing is a privilege. Please take care of you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. It's your responsibility to take care of the most precious gift that anyone has, and that is the gift of life.

Her expertise in quite magical transformations is breathtaking, helping people to overcome often serious mental and emotional issues. Janet has become a treasured friend and I couldn't be happier for her and her lovely new Husband Steve for their much deserved retirement adventures ahead!

FOOD MATTERS.....

INGREDIENTS:

1 onion roughly chopped
2 garlic cloves roughly chopped
1 red or green chilli roughly chopped
1 carrot roughly chopped
10g piece of ginger peeled and chopped
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 ½ tbsp tikka masala curry paste
400g can cooked green lentils
220ml coconut milk
200gfrozen peas
10g coriander, roughly chopped
200g cooked brown rice
4 tbsp natural yoghurt, to serve

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1

Put the onion, garlic, chilli, carrot and ginger in a food processor and blitz to a smooth paste.

STEP 2

Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over a medium heat and cook the veg paste for 4-5 mins until fragrant and starting to soften. Add the curry paste and cook for 1 min more, then add the lentils and stir to combine.

STEP 3

Pour in the coconut milk and 150ml water, and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10 mins until thickened and creamy. Add the peas in the final 5 mins, and season well.

STEP 4

Stir in most of the coriander, then divide the curry between four bowls along with the rice. Sprinkle over the remaining coriander and top with the yogurt to

serve - ENJOY!
