Interesting and somewhat concerning article on 'ditching diet foods if you want to lose weight' from Dr Chris Van Tulleken.......
Thankfully something that myself and Lindsey Fitness members have been aware of for sometime thanks to Janet Thomson and the Colour Code
System.
I myself stopped eating or drinking practically anything containing artificial sweeteners in, especially anything proclaiming to be 'diet, light, low fat or low sugar' as soon as I was on board with Janet Thomson nearly 6 years ago. In turn I delivered her programmes to Lindsey Fitness members and still do.
Janet made us aware of the possible side effect on our bodies and ultimately our health when we eat foods that are altered by
additives and artificial sweeteners. By adopting the Colour Code System , I ensure I always try to eat foods that are whole, natural, unprocessed, low in fat and natural sugars. I always read labels on foods, and simply avoid anything containing Aspartame and words I don't recognise .It seems Janet as ever is ahead of the game.
Dr Van Tulleken writes....
"In general, the main issue with ultra-processed foods (UPF) is
not the additives, but rather that those additives are a sign a product is engineered to have addictive properties, so it may be very hard to stop eating it."
"The World Health Organisation has just issued official guidance warning people not to use sugar substitutes for weight loss on the grounds that it simply doesn't
work and may even raise your risk of diabetes and heart disease."
How about you ... do you still purchase diet and low fat foods in the belief they help you with weight loss? When in fact we now know they truly don't and
could be affecting your health in other more serious ways too.
