Hi It's been
quite a week one way or another ... The Spring Reset has started for 10 committed, lovely participants, I have had a couple of last minute team entries for the Quiz night tomorrow evening,, which is shaping up to be a fun and competitive event! Some amazing raffle prizes have been assembled ready to be won, and bids have been coming in for the Tottenham Hotspurs Match Day Hospitality Package which will be announced tomorrow night too.. Last weekend
several members of the Lindsey Fitness Running Club took part in the Cambridge Half Marathon - all of them completing in fantastic times and on great form - Congratulations to them all, we are so proud of you all. Training for the TCS London Marathon continues with the 18 mile long run this weekend. The route is planned and the car support in place. I was delighted to meet up with some of the other Isabel Hospice runners last week and even more delighted that some are joining us this Sunday to run with the Lindsey Fitness Running Club. It makes such a difference to run with others at this point , to share
thoughts, fears and strategies along with encouragement and support for anyone who may have any self doubt. But for both the Resetters and for the runners what is key to their successful achievement is .. MINDSET or 'setting the mind.' The most effective way to do that is to practice Visualisation... "Visualisation is the practice of imagining what you want to achieve in the future The process of visualizing directs your
subconscious to be aware of the end goal you have in mind." Case scenario - have you or have you ever known someone declare " I knew that was going to happen!" when something hasn't gone to plan, failed to achieve something, or just didn't happen. Ask yourself was it because you or they continually thought negatively to yourself, talked yourself down or out of something, giving thought and energy to everything that could go wrong?...and then it
did! But what if it didn't, what if you made it go right? Those that know me, family, friends, members at class, running club or those that do the Resets with me , know my thoughts on positivity, self talk, and visualisation. Ask yourself have you ever wanted something so badly, that you went all out to get it, you did everything you needed to do to make it happen - it may have been a holiday you wanted to go on, the
car or house you wanted to buy, the person you wanted to marry , the wedding of your dreams? You did everything you needed, went all out to make it happen - and it did, didn't it! You made it happen! You attached such emotion, and desire to wanting it and seeing it happen in your imagination, everything you thought , said or did lent itself to achieving just that that ........and it did because you didn't entertain anything
less! YES YOU CAN! Life will always throw curveballs that are beyond our control of course but when it comes to self achievement
whatever that might be, you are your own director of circumstance. The example I always give for myself is running a marathon. As soon as I have entered even if its a year in advance, even before the training starts, I start visualising just how I will feel at the end of it!!. How I will feel crossing the finish line, wearing that medal having run and enjoyed every single mile. I apply the same process to the long training runs, visualising completing
the route in my mind always first thing in the morning and last thing at night 2-3 weeks in advance. If any negative thoughts or self talk starts I dismiss it and flip it for positive ones in an instant now - I am well practiced, it becomes easy. It makes it happen for me despite the miles of training, the whole process gets me to the end goal without a shadow of doubt. Visualisation for the resetters starts from the off, seeing themselves as already changed or
revisiting and remembering a time when they were happy with the way they looked and felt. How wonderful, and happy that feels. We build on that and make the visualisation even more incredible. Everything they do on the Reset embeds and lend itself to taking then on a forward journey to being how and what the want to be. The brain doesn;t know the difference between what is real and what is imagined. When you create the feeling and emotional desire of achieving
something or you as already changed, the body lends itself to doing just that and works towards that goal. Everything you think and do will take you in the right direction as a given. See it - in your minds eye, Believe it with a passion, Achieve It - Yes you will ! |
