Everything Lindsey Fitness This week
Hi
The weekend cometh..... The 42nd London Marathon is this Sunday 2nd October. Participants have completed their last gentle training runs and walks and are primed and ready for the 26.2 miles finish line!. Its an exceptional year for the Lindsey
Fitness Running Club. We have 6 runners (including myself and partner Gary) running in London. Notably, it is the second Marathon this year for Natalie Kempster and Vicki Rolston. Vicki is running after coming back from diagnosis and breast Cancer treatment last year - our very own Wonder Woman! Then the success of the Virtual event during the pandemic in 2020 means we have 3 other groups also taking part covering the distance locally. Two runners including Peter Aubusson taking part
in his first Marathon at 74 years old! Five power walkers and three further walkers our 'Golden Girls' including the amazing Pamela Newton taking part in her first Marathon at 79 years old!
We meet every Sunday to run and walk, and our long training distances in the lead up to Sunday have included distances of 10, 12, 14, and 20 miles. These longer distance training sessions are always car supported by other members for which we are so
grateful.
If you would like to follow any of us in London on Sunday please download the official app - Finish line here we come!
I am running my last Marathon in London this Sunday for the Willow Foundation. In 2020, £3.235 was raised and the Marathon was completed virtually due to the Pandemic. Willow generously held a place over for me to take part in London itself this year 2022. Runners are requested to raise a £2000 for their Charity place.
I had £765 to make up the difference for my place this year. At time of
emailing this I am through and beyond with a total so far of £4, 094.
So thank you for the many wonderfully kind donations. Small or more is genuinely appreciated for the difference it will make - Just 26.2 miles to my finish line now! XXX
The following Sunday 9th October I will be at the the Annual Willow
10km event at Hatfield House to deliver the Warm Up on stage - It's not too late to enter or if you are supporting a participant I'll take you through a WALKFIT Session while you wait!
I was interested and somewhat pleased this week to see a press article about Breathing and Mindfulness and its huge health benefits.....something my online morning Mindfulness and Mobilisation participants already know. It's not a secret but practiced regularly .......its priceless physically and mentally. It claims it has proved Just 10 minutes a day can' lower blood
pressure as effectively as medication' Read on and ...
