Hi
A rather grey, wet start to March but some glorious bright sun , blue skies, emerging blooms and blossom last weekend relaying a true sense of imminent 'Springness'..... at last!!!
I am currently away on a training course including tomorrow (Friday). Normal Lindsey Fitness classes and Lindsey Fitness Online services resume from Saturday at Monk Walk with the HiiT. It is great to see members making good use of the replays while I am away so exercise regimes can continue unaffected.
Please do check out the updated Class Procedure for COVID Safety at the Lindsey Fitness F2F sessions later in this newsletter.
There are still some places on the Spring Reset that can be booked if you want to really enter into the spirit of Spring - mind and body!
The Sunshine as mentioned is a great mood lifter for many of us and especially those affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD),sometimes known as 'Winter Depression'.
Have you or maybe someone you know been experiencing SAD to a greater or lesser degree?
Symptoms of SAD can include:
- a persistent low mood
- a loss of pleasure or interest in normal everyday activities
- irritability
- feelings of despair, guilt and worthlessness
- feeling lethargic (lacking in energy) and sleepy during the day
- sleeping for longer than normal and finding it hard to get up in the morning
- craving carbohydrates and gaining weight
For some people, these symptoms can be severe and have a significant impact on their day-to-day activities.
The exact cause of SAD is not fully understood, but it's often linked to reduced exposure to sunlight during the shorter autumn and winter days
